    The pCO range is the solution that CAREL offers its partners for the management of HVAC/R applications and systems, and includes the pCO5+ and c.pCO family universal programmable controllers.

     

    Together with user interfaces, communication interfaces, remote management systems and cloud services, the pCO range offers OEMs in the HVAC/R business a powerful and flexible control system that can readily interface with the most common building management systems and be integrated into proprietary supervisory systems.

     

    The pCO range guarantees highly reliable control of air conditioning and refrigeration units, while at the same time allowing maximum adaptability for differentiation both in terms of appearance and functions.

     

    Different models and sizes are available based on the number and type of inputs/outputs and the development tool used. 

     

    The plastic enclosure with DIN rail mounting guarantees high mechanical protection of the board and reduces the risk of electrostatic discharges, while also housing an optional built-in user interface with semi-graphic LCD and 6 LED backlit buttons.

     

    The inputs and outputs are separated in the layout to make wiring simpler and faster.

    Connectivity

    Up to two built-in Ethernet interfaces (c.pCO only), three serial interfaces (FieldBus or BMS), two optional expansion cards, and two USB ports. Choice of a wide range of communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, CAREL, BACNet, Konnex, TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, DHCP, DNS, NTP, SNMP).

    Programmability and development environments 

    Three programming environments are available, allowing groups or teams to set up a development flow, controlling the sources and features through version control software. In addition to the 1tool-based (with BIOS) and c.suite-based models (with operating system), STone-based models with the new STone OS are now also available.

    Cybersecurity 

    The new models with STone OS guarantee a high level of cybersecurity, being developed in compliance with the IEC 62443 standard. 

    I/O Flexibility

    Thanks to the CAREL proprietary ASIC chip, pCO e c.pCO controllers (pin-to-pin compatible) features universal I/O channels that can be software configured as analogue inputs, digital inputs or analogue outputs.

    Extended range

    The introduction of models with STone OS overcomes the differentiation of commercial lines based on the development tool, making a much wider range of STone-programmable products available than is the case for controllers that can be developed in 1tool or c.suite only. The developed logic can therefore be used across a broad range of HVAC/R devices, maximising the investment made in the software.

    Applications

    The programmability of the pCO family controllers and a wide range of multilingual interfaces with panel- or wall-mounting allow solutions to be developed for controlling chillers, air conditioners, shelters, roof-top units, heat pumps, refrigeration units, air handling units (AHUs) and many other applications.

    Energy saving 

    Specific models are available in a version with up to two built-in electronic expansion valve drivers and an optional Ultracap module, for integrated energy saving management.
